Scott Curtis

I imagine that Scott made new friends every day. Following a wedding one August 3rd midnight at the Benson Hotel bar, Scott and I discovered we share the same birthday. Seated surreptitiously to our right, an evesdropping erstwhile-Stray Cat Brian Setzer took the opportunity to buy us a round. He and Scott made fast friends as you would expect. I was shocked to learn of Scott's passing just last week, and my wife and I extend our condolences to his family and friends.

Scott was a great man and a great friend. It was an honor to know him and to play music with him. My wife Karen and I are heartbroken about his passing and send our deepest sympathies to all of his family and friends.

I have very fond memories of Scott while at the University of Oregon. I especially remember his sense of humor, his laugh, and, above all, his kindness and friendship. He will be missed.
