My fondest memory with Scott was when we took our motorcycles (no helmets) for a ride to Manitowish Waters in 1965. The ride thru the Shawano area during the fall time was memorable for sure as was the week "Up North". Scott was my friend. Hey Dutton, I raise a glass to you! My deepest sympathies to the Dutton family.

I was privileged to be a friend of Scott's for many years. We spent hours laughing together, solving the world's problems and having some of the most interesting conversations I've ever had. Scott talked to me so often about his family--how gifted his children are and how well they turned out ;), about special times with his lovely wife, and he loved to brag about his grandchildren ("my legacy", he would grin). He talked often about his students, as well, and how he kept learning from his...

I feel especially blessed to have had Mr. Dutton as a teacher in highschool. He was one of the most formitive role models of that part of my life. It's hard to narrow down the ways in which he positively impacted my development as a person, but what I'm most grateful for is how he demonstrated thoughtful emotion. He encouraged the thoughtful merger of logic and emotion in a way that has forever molded me into a better person. Thanks for everything Mr. Dutton!

Scott's friendship will be dearly missed. There are very few who can speak about about Spirit the way Scott could, and even fewer with his patient capacity to truly listen. His alert and loving presence, to say nothing of all the free hot coffee, will be dearly missed!

Scott and I graduated together at North High School in Sheboygan WI in 1966. I have wonderful memories of Scott being such a kind, gentle, soul. My thoughts and prayers are with Scott's entire family.

I'm both shocked and saddened to learn of Mr. Dutton's passing. I feel very fortunate to have had such a great man as a teacher. I'll always cherish our after-class discussions that would pertain to anything and everything, most notably being his trips to Africa. Scott was the embodiment of what it means to be a genuine, caring person. His passion for his students was unmatched by anything, and often times he would talk about prior students and brag of their accomplishments, as if he were a...

I wish I had more eloquent words for a man who has taught me so much about the power of a voice. Mr. Scott Dutton has been one of the most influential figures in my life and I cannot express the depth and intensity of the pain I feel for his passing. As both a mentor and a friend we laughed and learned and cried and questioned and knowing I won't be able to send any more excessively long emails or return to Appleton to meet for coffee is devastating. He has fostered so much of my confidence...
