Not sure what to say?

Dear Mrs. Harper and children: I knew your sweet dad in high school. We had a class together and though he was an "upper classman", he made sure those of us who were "not" felt welcomed and included. As you go thru life, you'll encounter certain people that you know you'll never forget.
That was your dad. He was the kindest and wittiest guy i'd ever met. Had a certain self-confidence about him but one that drew people in rather than pushed them away. I have a feeling his...

I worked closely with Scott on many environmental issues over the years. He was a genuine guy and an excellent reporter. I will miss dropping in on him when I made visits to the region for whatever reason and we were able to just catch up.

My favorite trip was ours up to Highland County when he reported on the wind turbine project slated for that county. A fond memory of a professional friendship that spanned many years and always was fun.

Dear Mrs. Harper
I am so sorry for your loss. I didn't hear about the funeral. I lost my wife three months and 10 days ago. I too am grieving. If you would like to talk, I would be delighted to listen and share my thoughts with you. You can reach me at 838-3322. You and your are in my prayers. I'm Chris Hagn Dad.
PS: Halloween must have been difficult for you.

Scott was a man I loved and truly looked up to. A man who loved his career and people and around him and it showed. I'll miss ya, good buddy.

To the Harper Family -- I only knew Scott as a journalist but I had great respect for him. As Director of Virginia Seafood Council, I always found him to be fair, informed and curious. I am sad that he has died so young; I've walked that road and it is not easy. I always concentrate on the happy memories and I hope you can do that also.

Laura and the Harper family...Some leave their mark on this world by the way they live and the positive difference they make in the lives of those they touch...a gift that nothing can ever take away. Our sympathy and condolences on your loss.

Dear Mrs Harper:
I was Scott's soccer coach in his 4th, 5th & 6th years in Northbrook, Ill. At that young age we put our best players in the goal position - he was outstanding. My son brad was also on the team and they formed a long lasting friend ship.

I am sadden that his life was cut short; but his memory is long lasting.

I have not seen Scott since 1975 when I was 9 and he was 13. (We are cousins on his father's side.) We went to see "Jaws" that summer and also a baseball game at Wrigley. He was even nice enough to pass on his baseball card collection to me!
My thoughts and prayers to his wife and children.

Jane:
I met Scott in the 3rd grade at Greenbriar Elementary. He was always the coolest kid and I always pretty much copied everything he did for years. I watched the same tv shows, Good Times, Baretta and I even tried to like Golf because of Scott.

I'll miss him. I have said many prayers for him and your family the past couple of years and I hope you find comfort in the blessings Scott brought to so many people.
