Army Chief Warrant Officer Scott Jamar wanted to make the Army his life's work. "He wanted to be a career man and he loved flying those choppers," said his mother, Aggie Oldfield. "He knew he needed to be there. I told him I didn't want him to go, but he said that's why he joined the service." Jamar, 32, of Granbury, Texas, died April 2 when his Black Hawk helicopter crashed. Jamar grew up in Sweetwater, Texas, and graduated from high school there. He had two children, 5-year-old Brennan and 7-year-old Kyle, who live with their mother in Alabama. Jamar returned from assignment in Korea in December and left for Kuwait in January. Oldfield received his last letter on March 24. "I was very proud of my son," Oldfield said. "He was doing what he was doing so his children and everyone here could have the life they have gotten so used to."

Not sure what to say?

I met you when I went to the recruiting station in San Marcos, Texas. You invited me to you house and you singlehanded are the reason I became a Chinook Crewchief. You kept in touch with me until the day you died. I'm sorry I missed you in Iraq by days my friend and I have never stopped thinking about the influence you have had on me since the very first day. Never forgotten and never will be. Till Valhalla I will never stop.

Honored and privileged to have severed with Scott. I was and always will be inspired by Scotts endless love for our Country. He was a true Friend and total Soldier. Scott will always be remembered by those who served with him. He is a loving Father of two young men who today continue to live their life to the fullest. Their Mother has done a fine job raising those men to build a legacy that Scott would be proud of.
Not a year goes by without My wife and I taking time to remember Scott...

Scott and I were out of the same graduating class of 1989 from Sweetwater, Tx. We had choir together and we played football. We both joined the US Army around the same time. I would like to let his family know that he is not forgotten. We both enjoyed choir and football together. He was as excited as I was to join the Army. He is missed and will never be forgotten.

War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,100 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one...
