Not sure what to say?

I just came across this news that Scott had passed. I am sorry for your loss. Scott was a pleasure to work with when defending municipal cases - he was thoughtful, patient and very bright. He will be missed.

Rest in peace brother, so sad I missed you before you left us. I'll see ya out on the big lawn someday...

Moved to Westport in spring of 7th grade. Scott had recently moved there from Chagrin Falls. Congregational church had a youth group that met regularly. One of my best friends, Liz Lynch and I went and met Scott and his Chagrin Falls buddy Bill "Gary" Garrett. We hung out together a lot that summer. Subsequently went to Staples where Scott and I got to know each other better (friends only) in Herr Johnson's German Class. Kept in touch periodically through the years ( moved to Texas and then...

I am shocked and saddened to learn of Scott ‘s untimely death. I had the great pleasure to work with Scott representing co-defendants in a few cases. His intelligence, wit and good humour made those cases memorable for me.
As trial lawyers we bemoan the passing of the jury trial, but more important is the passing of the great trial lawyers of which Scott was surely one.
My sincere condolences to Gail, his mother, Jules, all his family and his many friends.

To Family & Friends, I was saddened to hear of Scott’s passing. We met on a professional level over 15 years ago as he successfully defended CT Municipalities on behalf of CIRMA. No one wrote the written words like he did. To say some of his reporting was unique is an understatement. He spoke his mind. Getting to know him on a personal level was just as enlightening. He will always be remembered.

Julia and Family,

I was so saddened to hear about you Dad's passing and I am very sorry for your loss. The world has lost a great man! I worked with your Dad at SS&K. Scott had such charisma and personality. He always made me laugh. We had this little saying that we used to joke about together, even years after we stopped working together. I remember you coming into the office when you were young and you were his pride and joy. Again, I am so sorry for your loss and...

Scott and I tried some cases together when we were both at Day, Berry & Howard. He was truly a gentle giant, a classy and kind guy and a skilled trial lawyer.

Scott,
You were one of a kind. Thanks for your generous commitment to Gamma Phi, past and future!

This was a great description of the life of Scott Karsten. I was his fraternity brother and friend and he will be missed by many of us. He was dedicated, passionate, loyal and smarter than he ever let on.
