To all of Scott's incredible family - the Ely family sends their love and sincere condolences. Our Mother, Vanita Ely worked with Scott at Bill Allen/Courtesy/Van Chevrolet for many, many years. Mom thought Scott hung the sun, moon and stars. Anytime she'd have problems with her car (or I had problems with mine), she'd call on Scott for help, even after she retired. There wasn't one time we passed the dealership that she didn't mention Scott and "let's drop in and say hi to Scott!" I'm sure they're in heaven as we speak, sharing old work memories. God bless you Scott, you were a true stand-up kind of guy.

I'm a little late, but I couldn't help but share. I first met Scott when I worked as an Enterprise Rental Agent in Van Chevrolet. I was still new in my position and was moved over to Van without much of an idea of what to do there. The only words of wisdom I received were "Don't piss off Scott." I was nervous. I'd heard so much about this one man who basically kept the dealership together...someone I'd be dealing with regularly. After the end of my first shift I walked downstairs and crossed the service drive to an office where I needed to submit my rental tickets. The man sitting in the office was working diligently and seemed unphased by the chatter around him. I used the code to enter the office and put the rental invoices in the "in" tray. After setting them down, the man looked at me and said "Take a seat." I immediately thought "Oh crap. I did something wrong." But much to my surprise, that "Take a seat" was the start of a wonderful friendship. In the months/years to come, I left Van and quit Enterprise. But I remained friends with Scott. I will never forget sitting in his office for hours on end talking. He was a wonderful man and the world won't be quite right without him. I'm so thankful that I was able to meet and befriend him. Words cannot express how much he will be missed. Don't ever forget the mug or fairy princess in your drawer, Scott. Rest in peace, dear friend.

The whole Larrick family wishes to thank everyone for their kind words of sympathy and prayers. It meant a great deal to read what others thought of him and to know how much he was loved. Again, thank you for the compassion each of you has shown to us.

Scott, since the bratty late 1960's until 2015, you had felt like a big brother to me. You loved, married, and protected my sis and you were a huge part of our family. You were an example in life, and are an example still, in remembrance, and I could only dream of attaining the level of order and integrity that you held. You leave behind an awesome wife, and an awesome family. My prayers go out to all the Larricks. Thank you, Scott, for your help, dry humor, and wisdom. You will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.

To Nancy...

We have prayed for both you and your husband since we got the news. Though we never actually met Scott, we feel we've met him through your telling us about him. It is a personal joy for us to set aside your favorite Cherry Walnut and/or Spinach Feta Breads when it's available, especially to see how happy you are to receive them. We always hoped that your husband was enjoying them too!

You both will be in our prayers as often as you are in our thoughts... which is often. Hope to see you soon... May God bless you always.
