Not sure what to say?

I met Scott shortly after he opened his first gallery on Butler Street in Saugatuck. In a very short time we became good friends. The success he achieved with his move to larger space in Douglas was a clear indication of his artistic talent and his ability to connect with people who loved what he was doing. Tonight, when I learned of his untimely passing, I was shocked and deeply saddened. I will miss him very, very much! Our community has lost someone with great talent much too young. My...

My friendship with Scott has spanned the last decade of our lives. My
fondest memories are having coffee together at a variety of coffee bars in Grand Rapids/Saugatuck. Scott had a very sensitive spirit and an extremely kind heart. He knew his strengths and his weaknesses which made him a genuine human being full of passion, humor, and life. There is a saying that some people are "Cut from the same cloth"....I will miss you dearly, sweet friend. My prayers go out to Joan and Victor Luoma...

I was lucky enough to be introduced to Scott through his friend Armin about 18yrs ago. Scott and I dated for a short period of time and he was very much a gentleman and truly a fun person to be around. I knew then that art was very important to him and am glad that he was able to accomplish some of his dreams. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

My wife Angela and I stumbled across Scott's gallery in Douglas about 4 years ago. Upon entering, I immediately recognized Scott's voice and laughter, though I had not seen or spoken with him since graduation from MHS in 1980. Since we reconnected, Angie and I have been privileged to visit his gallery again in Douglas, to have Scott visit our home, and to have the true privilege of owning and displaying many of his art works in our home. Scott shared some of his art with our children through...

I worked with Scott when I was at the Dow/Midland location. He had such a great sense of humor. He won the "Ick Award" at a halloween party! What a fun guy. His creativity knew no boundries. I was glad to hear that he finally got his art recognized and was making a living with it. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of grief. God Bless

Scott brought a lot of laughter to our household in Midland. We enjoyed his company and he enjoyed our mom's Cuban cooking. I would like to extend the sincerest condolences of our entire family to the Luomas.

I worked with Scott when he and I were at Dow. I visited him once at lunchtime at Steelcase. He was a real gentleman and a great friend. He was kind to everyone. I never heard him say anything bad about anyone. I will miss him and keep you all in my prayers.

On behalf of the MHS class of 1980, please accept sincere sympathy in the loss of Scott. It sounds like he really made his mark on this world during his years though.
