Scott R. McKay, 68, of Lower Saucon Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the VNA Hospice of St. Luke’s in Lower Saucon Township. He was the devoted husband of Elizabeth (Wolle) McKay, with whom he shared 40 loving years of marriage.
Born in Bethlehem on September 4, 1956, Scott was the son of the late Robert G. and Irene S. (Smith) McKay, his beloved parents. He was raised in Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township and was a graduate of Saucon Valley High School. A student-athlete, he was inducted into the National Honor Society and excelled in football, basketball, and baseball.

He went on to attend Lehigh University, where he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1978. While at Lehigh, he played center for the 1977 National Championship football team and was an active member of Chi Psi fraternity, serving as its President during his senior year.
Following graduation, Scott began his career with Accenture in Manhattan. He was named a partner in 1989 and had a distinguished career leading large-scale systems development projects for Fortune 500 companies in the U.S. and internationally. After retiring, Scott embraced his most cherished role as a full-time father. He was deeply involved in his son’s lives, volunteering at school events and coaching youth basketball and Little League.
An avid golfer, Scott was a member of Merion Golf Club, Saucon Valley Country Club, and Sea Island Club. He served on Merion’s executive committee for the 2013 U.S. Open Championship. Committed to education and leadership, he served as a curriculum advisor for Lehigh University’s Industrial Engineering Department and as Alumni President of Chi Psi Fraternity.
In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, Scott is survived by his son, William Wolle McKay; and two sisters: Karen M. (Gordon) Ward of Wasilla, AK, and Linda A. Morris of Oviedo, FL. He was predeceased by his son, James Aubrey McKay, who died on March 22, 2022.

I worked with Scott for over ten years at Accenture on a series of projects and engagements for some of our largest clients. Scott was one of my two most impactful mentors who helped guide me as a young partner. Scott led by example and always ensured that he clearly laid out his requests, thoughts and expectations up front. He was wonderful to work with and had a profound impact on my life, even beyond my professional years.
I saw him a few times throughout the years and even...

Scott and I were fraternity brothers and fellow Industrial Engineers at Lehigh and would see each other often after Lehigh football games. We would talk with the wives, have a beer and watch the children grow up over the years. I had a long talk with Scott and his son after one of the last games last year. I will sorely miss Scott and my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am very sorry to hear that Scott passed away. We were good friends throughout grade school and high school. We participated in the same church activities and boy scouts, we took the same classes in school and were teammates in basketball and volleyball. We hung around together in our spare time and I have many fond memories of those times.
