Scott Alan Meyers

Scott Alan Meyers, 41, of Graham died at his residence on Monday, January 12, 2015 after a nine year battle with brain cancer. A native of Dunmore, PA, he was the husband of Bridget Sleboda Meyers and the son of Steven Meyers, Sr. and Theresa Cox Meyers, all who survive. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving a total of six years. Scott was employed at AMEC Corporation as a subcontractor for the EPA for 14 years and was also an electrician and a HVAC specialist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and coaching basketball and soccer. He was a member of the Wildlife Action Club and Saxapahaw United Methodist Church. In addition to his wife of the home, father of Saxapahaw and mother of Graham, survivors include three sons, Tyler Scott, Brandon Paul and Dylan Joseph Meyers, all of the home; two sisters, Stacey Bernardi-Price of Saxapahaw and Angella Meyers Aiken and husband James B. of Prospect Hill; two brothers, Eric Meyers of Mebane and Steven Meyers, Jr. of Burlington; in-laws, Albert and Barbara Sleboda of Scott Township, PA; niece, Ashley Bernardi; great-nephew, Xavion Ross; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Ann Cox and Kenneth and Agnes Meyers. A memorial service will be conducted at Saxapahaw United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. by Pastor Sue Eldon. The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, Duke University Medical Center, DUMC Box 3624, Durham, NC 27710.
