Reed, Scott O. Bitely, MI Formerly of Ypsilanti Age 57, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 following a short illness. He was born May 17, 1957 in Ypsilanti, MI, the son of Virgil and Alice (Anderson) Reed. He was a 1975 graduate of Willow Run High School. Scott worked for General Motors Toledo Powertrain for 30 years, retiring in 2009. On July 28, 2005 he married Maribeth Burke and she survives. He was a former member of the Ypsilanti Eagles Aerie #2250. Scott had a passion for fishing and was a car enthusiast. He loved his family and grandchildren, who were a very important part of his life. In addition to his loving wife, survivors include: his mother, Alice; four sons, Todd (Nicole), Adam, Joshuah and Leon (Shanael) Reed; two step children, Daniel and Jessica Burke; three grandchildren, Madison, Grace and Trowa Reed; father-in-law David Hughes; two brothers, Douglas (Michelle) Reed and Steven (Adrienne) Reed; one sister Crystal (Ronny) Boatright; one half sister Wanda (John) Meyer; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his best buddy Harvey Dawg. He was preceded in death by his father Virgil. The memorial service will be 12 noon Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Stark Funeral Service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Huron Valley Humane Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 11 am until time of service Tuesday.
