Not sure what to say?

Scott was admired and respected by his Cousins as the Marine who came for a visit in his Jeep to Missouri to spend time with them and play with them when they were youngsters. We miss you, Scott. Love, Uncle Mike and Aunt Mary Ann.

Hard for me to believe Scotty is gone. A life long friend that meant the world to many. I say your name often, Shag. You were one of a kind...

Sorry to hear about my old friend 'Shag'. We went to Supply Officer school together in Lejeune, where we both wound up in the 3d MAW, me in Camp Pendleton, he in Yuma. Sounds like he found something even more enjoyable after that. RIP my friend.

Forever at Peace Spray

What's wonderful, nice man. I can't ever seeing Scott and not smiling the instant we noticed each other. I can't say that about many people. He was a really great golfer and great example for the golf profession. My sincere condolences to his family and large circle of friends. It was an honor to know him.

Lots of special memories of Shag. He was as genuine of a person as they come. I remember turning my son over to him for golf lessons. Told him to teach him to hit the chit out of the ball. He did and my kid still does thx to him. RIP Scott! Gone too soon.

From Uncle Mike: When Scott was about 1 years old, Mom, Dad, and I traveled to Topeka to see this new boy. He was already running, and Grandpa Art put a ball in his hand and played catch. Grandpa then started playing tackle with Scott. Scott loved it even with a hurt arm afterword. There you have the making of an athlete. I was so excited about being Scott's uncle at age 9. Us Texas Fletchers love Scott and will miss him dearly. God's Blessings go out to Stacey, Jill and Chuck and all...

When we were small children in Poplar Bluff, MO my dad was so excited to introduce us to his nephew who was proudly serving in the Marines. One of my earliest memories was riding around with our cousin Scott and looking up to him. He was a funny, warm, and family-centered man, and I will miss him. My deepest condolences to the Shagool Clan. We love you and miss you!

I'll never forget I took a lesson from Scott One time. I was about a 12 handicap playing in the pro ams. He gave me a couple tips. I went out the next 2 rounds. Played in the low 70s, the pGa locked me at a 6 handicap for 6 months. Whenever I was having struggles with my game, I could call him on the phone. He would give me a tip over the phone and I would instantly play better. The man was amazing. Kind and gentle. Rip shag . Look forward to seeing you again.
