Not sure what to say?

To my dear friend Scott, We knew each other from Sioux City growing up. Later we became fraternity brothers at the U of Iowa. Such great memories, we also caught up in Winter Park back in 2022 as we had dinner together and caught up on the last 40 years. It was like we were still in College as we laughed and reminisced about old times. My sincere condolences to Scott´s family as he was a one of a kind special person. With sympathy, Mike Miller family

Scott was a lifelong friend having grew up in same area and 40 years later, living a block away in Lakewood. R.I.P.

I just came across Scott´s obituary. I feel so bad for his family, what a great guy! Scott went to Bryant for awhile so I knew him from there. I´d run into him through the years and he was always so friendly. I´m so sorry for your loss and he will be missed!!

Scott had that gift-the ability to bring the past into the present in a way that made you feel like you were right there with him again. His stories and laughter were infectious, and they made you feel like part of something bigger. He will be missed. My condolences to the Smith family.

He was a brave soul. He had posted on facebook a few years ago telling his story the way he wanted people to remember him. He had resigned himself knowing he was going to die and made it very clear he wanted people to remember him full of life, riding his bike and the plethora of his dedication and focus he had. Not many people take that opportunity to pour it out with clarity and compassion like he did. A very cool soul and person will be missed by the all of the people he touched. Praying...

I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Scott since the 7th grade at North Jr. He sat next to me in Miss Remer's class. He never brought a pen with him and was always borrowing one from me. We regularly got in trouble for talking. Our paths crossed again at the University of Iowa. My deepest sympathy to the Smith family.

To Scott´s family I am so sorry to hear of Scott´s passing. Growing up with him in the neighborhood was never a dull moment starting all the way back to age 4. We started arguing before we were allowed to cross the street and continued for 60 years. But we always made up and laughed about it. I´m so grateful I got to see him last year at our reunion. Sending, love, light, and prayers to you all. If I know Scott, he´ll be checking in

Mary Jo, Sorry to get this news. Scotty will be missed and treasured forever.

Sorry to learn of Scott´s cancer and death via SC Journal. My family is in Colorado since 1976. I was a babysitter for the Smith family. My condolences to his family.
