We are so sorry to hear about Scotty Uncle Roger and Aunt Rita. He did alot in his life and was a strong person in the community. Hugs to the family.

Sparky when he was 20 or 21 at the lambda chi house. Look at that hair. I think it was Scott Johnstons 21st birthday. A lot of fun memories with him at UW. My condolences to Dawn, his parents and the rest of the family

Scott and I were stationed together in Hawaii as Navy JAGs. I remember him as a fine officer and outstanding lawyer. From what I can see he also served Kittitas County with distinction. My condolences to his family and friends.

I was fortunate to have been teamed up with Scott in junior high and high school athletics-a competitor who always encouraged me. My condolences to the Sparks family.

I met Mr. Sparks when I was 15 when I did something stupid and got in trouble. He was always so kind and fair. Even when I continued too get into trouble. He looked at me one day, almost like a father does to their child, and said "Brandon, this has to stop." He cared about the people he had in his courtroom and he looked at, and treated them, like people. He will be missed. Sending lots of positive thoughts and love to his family in these tough times.

Scott and I served our respective courts and were members of the same state judicial committees. Both JAG officers in our practice career, we immediately connected on a host of levels. What stood out for me was Scott's commitment to the rule of law and his common sense approach to problem solving. His view of legal issues almost always coincided with mine. A great guy and a great judge. My condolences to his loved ones.

Sad to hear this news. He had put up quite a fight. It was a pleasure to have him as a "rural neighbor," patient and even to testify before him. Our family's condolences to his.

So sad to hear of Scott's passing. So many memories from elementary School at Mt. Stuart through high school, UW and later year's back in Ellensburg. Scott had an un-matched zest for life and will be truly missed. Job well done my friend, RIP.
