Not sure what to say?

Scott ("Stretch"), I will always remember your silver trumpet, your heart of gold, your contagious laughter and the many deep conversations we shared during our drives from St. Paul to River Falls and back again in our college years. I would have loved watching you teach music and I hope that each and every student carries on your legacy by sharing their music with the world as beautifully as you did. Rest well Stretch.

My family and I wish to express our sympathy to all of Scott's family and friends. We all feel his absence. I learned of Scott's passing from Denise Giguere, but we all knew somehow that he was gone.
Like others I met Scott in Newcomb back in 1989. Seventeen years seems so short now. We all hoped to see Scott in May at a retirement party for some close friends. Scott was always one to keep in touch. Even after he moved to Nevada, Scott often knew more about our school and school...

I met Scott in 1989. I moved out to New Mexico without knowing a soul. There was Scott inviting me to chaperone a band trip. That day he became an instant friend with that distinctive and contagious laugh of his. Quickly he became one of my dearest friends, always watching out for me and making sure I was okay. Without him I am not sure I would have made it through some of my years away from home. A good friend is always there for a shoulder to lean on, an ear to bend and a laugh to share....

Scott and I taught together at Newcomb and then remained in touch through most of 20 years. I was saddened to hear of his passing but I know that he gave his kids everything at school. He was a great teacher and a super human being.

Dear Family,
I was so sad to hear of Scott's passing. We were very good friends in New Mexico. We got our first teaching jobs at the same time in Newcomb. We were interviewing down there the same weekend and became friends. We had alot of adventures together. He was a great guy. When I decided to move back to Wisconsin he loaded his truck with stuff that wouldn't fit in the rental truck and drove back with us then turned around and drove back to New Mexico. We kept in touch after we moved...

I
was a close friend of Scott's. I just found out last night about his
passing. He had a lot of friends in New Mexico that still do not know
about his death. We are all shockled and saddend about his death. My
wife worked with Scott for close to 20 years at Newcomb High School and Kirtland High School where he taught band and on occassion chior. We
will all miss Scott.

I only met Scott a few times when he taught with my sister, Denise, in Newcomb, NM. She just heard of his passing yesterday (1/1/07). She is deeply saddened by his passing as they were good friends in Newcomb and after they both moved on. So sorry for your loss.

I knew Scott when he helped manage the Rivermen D&B corps in the 80's. He was a lot of fun and he had a great sense of humor! I am shocked and sorry to hear of his passing. He is remembered warmly by many.

I am sorry for the loss of Scott. I was in the Rivermen Drum Corps with Scott in the 80's. He had the toughest job of anyone there. He had to wake us all up every morning. He was the loudest man I knew. He was such a nice guy, we always felt bad that he was yelled at each morning to be quiet. I think he liked that job. He loved to tease the last man or woman up. I always liked him and he is in my mind when thinking of my time in the corps. He is missed.
