WM. SCOTT VAUGHAN Wm. Scott Vaughan passed from this life on his 46th birthday, Dec 3, 2016. He has been a resident of Wilmington for the past 20 years. An avid surfer, he loved the waves of Wrightsville Beach and the culture and music of downtown Wilmington. He was a graduate of Menchville High School in Newport News, VA and of Barton College (formerly Atlantic Christian College) where he was a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Scott was an avid sports fan. Surfing and soccer were lifelong passions. He was well known by all for his love of Blue Devil basketball and Hokie football. His infectious smile and magnetic personality brightened every room he entered. He left sandy footprints in all of our hearts and will be sorely missed. He leaves behind his parents, L.T. and Pat Vaughan, sister, Cindy Vaughan, niece, Ashley Bennett, Uncle and Aunt, Doug and Charlotte Vaughan and cousins Whitney Miller and Doug Vaughan, Jr...all residents of Virginia...and Tiffany Wagner, a special friend, as well as a host of his many friends all over the country. His ashes will be taken back to Virginia for a service there. A memorial service will be held in Wilmington at Andrews Valley Chapel (4108 South College Road) on Saturday Dec. 10, 2016 at 11 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, please send a gift in his name to your favorite charity. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.andrewsmortuary.com

Not sure what to say?

Hey Scott. It's going to be tough surfing without you, not having you to laugh at my wipeouts and cheer my good rides. Man i hope you knew how much i treasured your friendship. I thought we had all the time in the world, that was so naive, i'm sorry. I hope i can get to heaven and you will meet me at the beach access there.

You will never be forgotten my friend.

Rest in Peace Scottie, we have such fond memories of us as kids in Nags Head. Pat and LT - I can't imagine what your are going through, know that our thoughts are with you and your family. We love you very much.

Rest in Peace Scottie and ride that big wave to heaven. I'll see you there! My prayers and condolences go to all his family and great friends.

Mr. & Mrs. Vaughan, I am the Chapter Counselor of NC Iota Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon. I am so sorry to hear the news of Scott's death. What a great guy. He always spread joy with in the fraternity during his stay a Atlantic Christian. My son and he were very dear friends while they lived in Wilmington. May God bless you both.

Pat and T - I have been thinking about you constantly and wish that I could be with you to help in some way. I can only imagine the pain that you are in and I hope you know that I have had you in my constant thoughts and prayers. May God hold you close at this time and in the days to come. I always think of all the wonderful times that we have shared and certainly hope that we can do so again. I love you both, Joanne Spence

Until another day my friend.
