Sean Patrick Sloe
CHICAGO - Sean Patrick Sloe, 37, of Chicago, formerly of Springfield, died on Thursday, May 2, 2013.
Sean was born on September 9, 1975, the son of Harold (Harry) and Lena Bohannon Sloe.
Sean was a 1993 graduate of Sacred Heart Griffin; a graduate of Lincoln Land Community College with an Associate's Degree; and held a degree in Fire Science. He was a lifetime member of the NRA and attended Degerberg Academy of Martial Arts. He was a Firefighter/Paramedic in the City of Chicago, assigned to Truck 55. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Riverton.
He had a passion for living life to the fullest, loved his family and friends, and was very dedicated to his profession, which began with the Riverton Volunteer Fire Department, during this time he ran his own lawn service, Sloe Mowing.
Sean was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandparents, Bob and Beulah Bohannon; paternal grandparents, Frank and Jessie Sloe; and one aunt, Mary Frances Sloe Moore.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lena Sloe, and Tim Bandy, his stepfather, of Sherman and one brother, Michael Sloe of Springfield; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Memorial Gathering: Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at St. Aloysius Church, 2119 N. 20th Street, Springfield.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at St. Aloysius Church with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz, celebrant. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance, P.O. Box 911, Mt. Prospect, IL 60056, St. James Catholic Church, 112 N. Sixth Str., Riverton, IL 62561 or Riverton Fire Department, 405 E. Jefferson Str., Riverton, IL 62561.

Lena,Tim,Michael and The Bohannon Family. Words cannot express the sorrow I feel in my heart for all of you. I am going to remember Sean for his beautiful smile and spirit! He could make you laugh until your sides hurt and often did. We need more people in the world like him, but I guess God has other plans. He is now with his Dad and Grandparents.
