The members of Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 818 are sorry for your loss. It is with sadness that we will include his name and EAA membership number, 420409, on our plaque commemorating those who have gone before. His great skill as a craftsman was obvious from the drums he made to the airplane he built and enjoyed flying. We will miss his humor, insightful observations and friendliness.

Dear Beatrice and Family,

Sebastian's passing is a great loss to the drumming community. Such a good spirit with so much enthusiasm.

He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to you.

If Death were a restaurant, and you sat down at a table next to Sebastian, wouldn't you take one look at what he ordered and say, "I'll have what he's having"? Honestly, if you have to go, the way Sebastian went was perfect. It was just 40 years too soon, and it is the soonness that makes me grieve.

My heartfelt condolences to you, Beate, and to your children. I am so, so sorry.

Beate, Selva and Wendlin,
I've always loved your family, and you two, Beate, were the perfect couple whose sparkle and zest inspired and uplifted everyone. I am deeply grieved and I want to put my arms around you all.

Beate and family,
It felt like today that Sebastian was nearby, his energy and love still present. We are available for any help and music making too, and will be seeing you (after 3 o'clock).

Dear Beatrice and family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Such a young age, too! My you be held together with love and memories and music.

Love, Beth

I got a good laugh at Simone's description of Sebastian as "so user friendly". Yes Sebastian was always responsive and present with me. Engaging and entertaining. He seemed to me always "right here, right now". Such a loving gentle man. Gena and I will miss him so. I see here how widely loved he is and how he touched so many lives with his spirit and his superb craft.

I never met Sebastian; I've never been in the Northwest. I read about him on the Djembe-List. I would love to have made his acquaintance. He sounds like a wonderful person, whose untimely passing must grieve you deeply. You have my utmost sympathy. Pete (Ohio)
