Sebastian Alexander Kidd

Sebastian Alexander Kidd, "Seabass", age 17, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 30th, 2021 in his home. Sebastian was born December 3, 2003 in Des Moines, Iowa.

A visitation will be held Sunday, August 8th, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 pm at McLaren's Resthaven Chapel, 801 19th St, West Des Moines IA 50265, followed by a Celebration of Life service at 4:00 pm. Pastor Nick Brannen from Lutheran Church of Hope will be speaking. We are inviting all who attend to wear bright colors to contribute to the celebration of life! There will be an additional gathering at 8:30 at the Chinese garden across the river from the new skatepark downtown for his friends. This is an opportunity for all of his friends to tell stories and say their goodbyes one last time. Please join us as we let him go at his favorite spot.

Sebastian was a student entering his Senior year at Carlisle High School. He was a loving young man who always looked out for everyone else's well-being first. He cherished his friends and family, always wanting to spend time with those he loved. Sebastian had an impact on everyone he came in contact with. He was supportive, uplifting and a truly kind-hearted soul. He always seemed to find a silver lining for others. One of his favorite places to go was the skate park in downtown Des Moines. He enjoyed hanging out and longboarding with his friends and watching the sunsets over the river. He was a multisport athlete involved in football, wrestling, track, and golf. His true passion was soccer which he played from the age of 5. An avid music lover, he was never seen without his headphones in blasting his favorite songs. His hobbies included fishing, longboarding, sports, cliff diving, cooking, and hanging out with friends to name a few. He was also an avid dog lover.

He is survived by: Dad/Pops/Old Man (Deric Kidd), Mama (Kathy Kidd), Sissy (Paige Lamere), Girlfriend (Salina Herrera); Mother (Gina DeGroote), Brother (Trayton Hockemeier), Grandma Jan, Grandpa Skip, Grandpa Jim, Grandpa Dave and many (great)aunts, (great)uncles, cousins and friends.
Sebastian is preceded in death by: Nana, Nana B, Grandpa Bob, Grandma Carol, Chloe, Claudia, and Buddy.
