Not sure what to say?

I still think about Ed several times a year ... and it's 2025. I used to work for him. I was an Army Major ... much like him. He was a hard SOB to work for. I last saw him at his Ft. Carson office before his cancer was considered terminal. I gave him a kiss of the cheek and I told him "I love you man ... you are one of the last great ones". Ed just smiled as we hugged for an extended period of time.

I'm so sorry to hear that Ed has died. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. I’m so sorry that I was not able to attend the services but I was TDY’d to Atlanta.
We will all miss Ed; I have worked for him for a short period during 1988 – 1990 and he was always the best that I have known.
Later we have worked to gather on many projects for many years; he has touched so many of our lives and made us all better person.

What I am feeling right now is hard to...

We were so sorry to hear of the Major's passing. I enjoyed working with him in the Property Book Section of the MMC, in the 4th ID and I will alway treasure his wit and personality. God bless you Sue!!!

I am so sorry to hear about Ed's passing. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Susan and all of his family.

We will miss Ed's Christmas letters. They were full of humor and brought a smile every year. Our prayers and thoughts are with Sue.

Ed was a mission focused professional, in both his military and civilian careers, who always looked out for soldiers' needs. His direct and positive impacts will not soon be forgotten. God Bless.

The MSE G8 staff, III Corps & Ft Hood Texas, wishes to express our sincere sympathy to Ed's family and coworkers. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Ed will be missed by all who knew and worked with him.

Please accept my deepest sympathies.

Ed Shields was an outstanding man and one whom loved his country, and believed in an Army of One!! I served with Ed as a Army Gov't Civilian and to this day and will never forget his Logistics and Resource Managment mentoring to me.
He will truly be missed!! Kenny Sikes
