One of the great thinkers and engineers. He advanced space travel decades.

I remember the Cold War, what I also remember is wondering why we could not get along with our WW2 allies. Politics are always distorting the realities that no matter the differences people are people. I am sorry to hear of Sergeis passing. Hopefully he had a good and full life.

Very sad news, indeed. Sergei gave me insights I would never have had if we hadn't spent time sharing family stories, gardens, wonderful meals, and lots of humor. My condolences to his wife and family.
