Not sure what to say?

I didn't know Seth very well, which makes it all the more strange that he should pop into my memory again this season. Yet once again, I feel a sense of loss, and sorrow for his family. Please accept this testament to my respect for a great and multifaceted guy, full of intelligence, generosity of spirit, and charm. Perhaps you will feel comforted by my recollections. - Jade's dad.

Dear Barbara and family,
I am so sad to learn the news about Seth. My condolences to you all.

I knew Seth through all of PEA and SYA and found him a strong friend and solid citizen. He certainly showed me a lot about how to be a good student, and his example helped me quite a bit. We had many jolly times in France and I'll miss him.

Dear Barbara - We were so sad to hear from Ron and Kerry about Seth's passing. We'll always remember how engaged, bright and witty he was, most recently at last spring's seder. Our thoughts are with you and your family. - Cindy Moelis and Bob Rivkin

Dear Barbara,

I like so very many others am deeply saddened by the news of Seth's passing.

I knew Seth at Exeter and SYA and was
one of the many who greatly admired his humor and his great intellect.

I had the opportunity to meet you at a
few of our various Exeter and SYA reunions, and I saw the wonderful closeness between you both.

My heart aches for you, your childen,
and the entire family.

Please know that you and your...

Dear Barbara and family,
I have just heard through the SYA network about Seth's untimely passing. I am so sad for you. Seth was so full of life and just so brilliant. I had the pleasure of working with him most recently on the 35th SYA reunion for our class (Oct. 2007 at Sidwell Friends in DC), and he so graciously stepped up to the plate to be a leader in our effort to create a fund honoring Hal and Sally Owen. He was a gem, and I am so glad I had the chance to know him in this...

Dear Ben,

I was shocked to learn of your father passed away suddenly,I felt sorry for that.I wish you the strength to cope with your terrible loss. My thoughts are with you and your mother at this difficult time.

Seth was my first love when we were 16 in France in 1971. He was sweet, smart, very funny and always so kind and thoughtful. He opened up a world of words, music and intellectual curiosity for me that changed my life. I know that year spent in France changed all of us on SYA, but it would not have been the same without Seth. The last time I saw Seth was at the wonderful reunion in NYC (2002). I feel fortunate to have met Barbara and knew that Seth had married his soulmate and was...

Dear Barbara,

I am terribly saddened to learn of your husband's sudden passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very difficult time. I will always remember how kind you were to my sister Rae and to our entire family. I wish you, your children, friends and community the strength to cope with your terrible loss.

Seth was the sun. He brought to his family and those around him love and warmth and enlightenment and yet he was never self centered. Both he and Barbara had this amazing capacity to feel the needs of others and to do everything possible to fulfill those needs. When you were in Seth's presence you could feel his caring and his strength and it made you feel secure. This, I know, will live on in Barbara and Julia and Ben.

I remember all the passover dinners Seth presided over....
