I still remember the day in Detroit, when he told me he was going to New York to become an actor. He dug out his old navy uniform and said, "take me to the highway, I am hitchhiking to the big apple" I lost touch with him after that but did follow his career. My condolences to his family.

Met Mr. Cassel back in 86 at the Lion's Head in NYC. Told him how much his work made movies interesting. He was there with Burtt Harris, another fine Character Actor. We spoke about movies for a few more minutes and then went our separate ways. He will be missed by those of us who appreciate reality on film. May he rest in peace.
