I served with Seymour on the UTU executive board. He was a very thoughtful person that taught me a lot and was an incredible labor leader. My condolences to the family.

I was lucky enough to be guided to Seymore's class on the Russian Revolution in his SF home back in the late 1970's and was glad to meet a critical thinker in those formative years. Unlike other labor militants he led a strike of bus drivers that was timed to start on the first day of school I was impressed by the timing and commitment to guiding his union with a winning strategy! Just heard about Seymour's passing and very sad. He was a wonderful mediator, a man with a wide and eclectic knowledge, a wry sense of humor, and a wonderful guy - those of us at IEDA will miss him greatly.

To Seymour's family and friends, from a fellow labor activist - my deepest condolences. May his good works, fighting spirit and sense of humor live on in his wake.

Sincerest condolences to Laurie, Hannah, Sasha and entire family. I spent many happy hours with Seymour when we worked together at SEIU. My office was next to his and he always made me laugh with his crazy jokes. We celebrated my retirement with a special dinner at Manressa. We both loved great food. I will miss him every day.
