Sgt. 1st Class Lester Brantley (U.S. Army, Ret.) of Richmond, Virginia, husband of Lurline L. Brantley, departed this life on Wednesday, November 8, 2000. Remains rest at Walter J. Manning Funeral Home, 700 North 25th Street, Richmond. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 12, 2000, from 5-6 p.m. Remains will lie in state on Monday, November 13, 11 a.m. until time of funeral services at noon, at Elohim Christian Center, 2700 Williamsburg Road, Richmond. Services will be officiated by the Rev. Leo Hackett Jr. Remains will be sent to Swainsboro, Georgia, for burial.
