Not sure what to say?

Shakira was my first supervisor during my internship at the Sac PDs office. She was so funny and she showed me remarkable grace. I will never forget the kind things she said about me in my performance review. I am also so thankful for the friendship that grew from crossing paths with her. She truly embodied the Single Mom Strong, Inc. motto: gritty, determined, and refusing to fail. Her passing inspires my legal practice. We don´t get to pick the cards life deals us but we have some say in...

Shakira was a beautiful person. She offered me so much love and support when we worked together in Sacramento, CA and afterwards as well. I loved her and miss her. My deepest sympathies to her family.

Shakira was a big part of the Sacramento County Public Defender Family. Her kind and generous sole impacted co-workers, colleges and the public in many different ways. Her presence and spirit will be greatly missed, and we offer our deepest condolences to her family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, and may the memories of her bring you joy and peace.
