Sharing condolences from a member of the extended Brister Family. I’m so sorry for your loss. I met Shane when he was a little boy. His dad brought him to our house in West Covina ( Southern California) to meet us. Melissa, the photo you posted of him is just how I remember him. Shane you will be so missed by all who knew you. You were always willing to help and you were so kind to my husband when he was so ill. I will never forget that. DeTect will never be quite the same. It was a gift to have known you. Rest in peace!

He had the biggest heart, fueled by hope and dreams, and was forever a defender of the underdog. He was smart, funny, and kind. He believed in dreaming big. I am honored to be his mother. I love him dearly and will miss him for all my time.

Shane, you will be greatly missed. Hard working and tenacious, I was always inspired by your work ethic and determination in spite of personal challenges along the way. Always kind to and thoughtful of Chloe. We had some good adventures along the way whether hiking up to a bat cave, launching a Space Shuttle or driving an F250 the wrong way out of a parking garage in a Las Vegas casino because it was just too darn tall. Rest in Peace my friend!
