Shannon Elaine Nehman, daughter of Cynthia and Roger Hurst and Frank and Janet Short, was born February 12, 1974, in Des Moines, Iowa. She received her education at Pocahontas High School in Pocahontas, Iowa.
She earned her nurse’s aid certification and was employed at the Emmetsburg Care Center and Bobalee (Laurens, Iowa) for many years until she retired due to health issues.
Shannon enjoyed spending time in her home watching television. She especially liked watching NFL football and was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys. She also loved her miniature husky, Bella Grace.
Shannon passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022, in her home, at the age of 48. She was preceded in death by her sister, Shelly Renee Conry; grandparents, Roland and Ruby Short, Bernetah Alderson, Dale and Marge Alderson, and Don and Wanda Hurst.
She is survived by a son, Hayden Nehman; parents, Cynthia and Roger Hurst of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Frank and Janet Short of Missouri; sisters, Stacy Goetz of Des Moines, Iowa, Amanda Short of Missouri, and Linsey Short of Des Moines, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
