Not sure what to say?

I am thinking about Shari now, these many years after her untimely death. We became friends when she knew her cancer was metastatic and my partner Sandy also had metastatic cancer. It was Shari who give me some CD's of Arvo Part's music which I played during Sandy's dying--and again nearly twenty years later when my mother was dying. Now that I'm writing about my mother's death--and about J.S. Bach, I'm reminded of Shari and her gift to me. Part, I've learned, is called the Bach of our...

I am so sorry that Shari died. We roomed together our freshman year at Dartmouth. How lucky was I? I remember being very nervous about leaving my mom and traveling to the States to start college when a letter arrived for me from my future roommate. In it, Shari introduced herself including a photo. She made me feel very welcome and excited about our future together. Shari was the kindest and brightest young woman I met at Dartmouth. I can only...

To Shari's family,
I remember Shari from Wellesley High School. I did not know her well, but I can picture her vividly. When I saw her name in the paper yesterday, I read about her and was awed by everything that she did for other people. I do remember that she had an unassuming but kind and confident manner. I am overwhelmed by the knowledge of what she went on to accomplish and how much she cared about others.

Hello Mark and Family,

I am a classmate of Shari's from Dartmouth. I didn't know her well, but I do remember her smiling enthusiasm. She was a dynamic person who cared deeply and accomplished a lot. I had the priviledge of proofreading her 25th reunion essay as a reunion committee member. I thought at the time how strong she was and how positive in the face of her illness. She's been in the back of my mind ever since, and I've wondered how she's doing. Then, a few weeks ago at my...

I have known Shari for many years. All of my memories are joyful and optimistic, even through these last struggles. She left a lot to be happy and thankful for.

Dear Kenny and Patty,
Our deepest sympathies for your loss. Shari was a remarkable woman whose legacy of wonderful deeds will go on forever. We will keep you in our prayers.

I consider myself fortunate to have met Sheri once. In addition to that memorable meeting, Muriel Paley, my neighbor and friend and Sheri's mother-in-law has spoken to me of Shari's journey over the past few years. These stories reinforced my initial impression of Sheri, that she was a woman of great intelligence, courage and compassion. I am very sorry for your enormous loss. Marilyn J .Hotes Berkeley,CA
