Sharon Elizabeth Boyd "Sherri," born September 13, 1958 in Johnstown, PA, died June 29, 2014 in Redondo Beach, CA, following a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Edward Boyd and Maria Boyd - Siciliano. Sherri is survived by her three sisters, Cindy Boyd Yancey, Tina Boyd Summers and Lisa Boyd Horkay, as well as two brother in laws, Jim Summers and John van de Wouw. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews, Erin Gordon, Tim Yancey, Anthony, Maggie and Annie Summers, as well as her beloved dogs, Molly and Roo. Sherri loved working with children starting as a YMCA camp counselor at 16 and working her way up the ladder to various director positions in Torrance and South Pasadena. Sherri loved the beach, music, camping and hiking, however, her true passion was providing a foster home for needy, hard-to-place dogs. She was a familiar sight walking her foster dogs in her South Redondo Beach neighborhood where she lived for the past thirty years. Over these years, Sherri provided a loving, caring shelter in her home for hundreds of dogs until they found "forever" homes. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that donations be sent to The Dexter Foundation Dog Rescue DexterFoundation.com or mailed to The Dexter Foundation, P.O. Box 7000-373, Redondo Beach, CA 90277.

Not sure what to say?

Today's reminisce is of how sweet and polite you were among others. Such a gentle way about you. I only remember the best things about you. I wonder what you are doing now but whatever it is, I do know you are fully you, fully whole and without suffering. I'm so grateful our paths crossed.

2021. You have been gone 7 years. I think of you often and have such great memories of our good times together. What I remember the most is how funny you could be. Gosh you used to make me laugh! God bless you Sheri. Always, Tk

God bless you always!

It hardly seems like three years has passed. You are still very present in my heart and in my mind as much as when you were here with us. You were such a good person, and truly made the world a better place. God bless you Sheri, in the next life or incarnation or whatever it is you are doing! I love you, Tk

I still miss you Sheri ! What a blessing your friendship to me was. There will never be another "you." With Love, Hank
