Waldorf and Mechanicsville, Maryland
Apr 2, 1962 – Oct 27, 2020
Sharon Lynn Brooks was born to the late Mary Francis Brooks in Leonardtown, MD on April 2, 1962. Sharon was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Medstar Washington Hospital Center.
Sharon received her education in the St. Mary's County Public School System. She was employed with Naval Rec Center of Solomons and Molly Maids cleaning services doing housekeeping for numerous years. She also worked for Dunkin Doughnuts doing delivery services.
Sharon was a wonderful mom, a supportive sister, an amazing grandma, and a faithful friend to many. Sharon is best remembered for her contagious smile, and her quick snapbacks. Her presence would light up a room without saying a word. She was a Dallas Cowboy fan at heart. She loved shopping and eating at Applebee's. She loved spending time crabbing with her sons and having picnic lunches on the beach with her grandkids. She always had the good snacks for those visits. Sharon loved to sing and dance. She could always be caught in the act of singing and dancing wherever she would go. She even loved to be serenaded by the only and only Boogie Chase.
Sharon was preceded in death by her mother Mary Francis Brooks, Stepfather William Brown, one brother Stanley Brooks, one sister Bernice Yvonne Brooks, two nephews Kevin Walton and Chris Walton and granddaughter LaNiya Janae Brooks.
Sharon leaves to cherish her wonderful memories to her six children, Brenna Brooks, Anthony "Leon" Brooks, Jonathan "Cisco" Brooks (Florence), Josh "Poo-Poo" Brooks (PaQuita), John "JJ" Dickins, James "Cook-Cook" Blackiston (Sharonda), two brothers Paul Brooks (Clara) and Joseph Brooks, 17 grandchildren Kionta, Kalaya, Demetrous, Dymond, Kyran, J'Niya, J'Khiya, Joshuaw, Jaelik, Jay'Marion, Jeremiah, Camya, Jakiya ,Kaelynn, Adrien, Jasira, and Camden, 4 nephews Travis "TJ" Walton, Joseph Brooks, Willis Brooks, and Jason Brooks, and a host of close family members and friends.
God made the best when he made our MOM. She will be missed by many. But the memories that we have of our MOM will forever live in our hearts and we will cherish them forever!
Visitation will begin at 10 am until time of service at 11 am on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 38576 Brett Way, Mechanicsville, MD. Interment to follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.

You were like a sister to me for many years. We spent a lot of time together. Your were with me when Josiah was born. He loved you a lot. We may have parted ways the last few years but you never left our hearts. Rest easy with the angels. until we meet again you will be missed.
