Sharon Lee (Meade) Candon, a longtime resident of Chicopee, passed away at Baystate Medical Center on December 11, 2024 at the age of 84. Born in Holyoke on September 1, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Phyllis Foster. She was educated in Springfield Schools and was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. Sharon worked at Mercy Hospital for 30 years, in several departments, including Mercy Rehab, and she previously worked as a stenographer for the former Monarch Life Ins. Co. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, in Springfield. A devoted mother and grandmother, Sharon was happiest when she was spending time with her family, whether at sporting events or together at home. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting, playing cards and feeding the birds. Sharon loved cooking and baking, known especially for her meatballs and pumpkin bread. At the age of 73, Sharon was reunited with her birth family, forming lasting bonds with 4 of her 6 siblings. In addition to her parents, Sharon was also predeceased by her husband, Patrick B. Candon, in 1992. Sharon is survived by her sons, Kevin Candon, Christopher Candon and his wife, Stephanie, Brian Candon and his wife, Melissa, and her daughter Kathleen Gadoury and her husband, Scott, as well as her brother, Clifford Foster. She also leaves her grandchildren, Adam, Kyle, Tess, Wylee, Luke, Max, and Kenzie, and 2 great-grandchildren Evaly and Harlow. Sharon's family is extremely grateful for the love and care that she received during her final months. Funeral services for Sharon will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, beginning at 9:30am at Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee, MA, followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Chicopee. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 at the funeral home.
