I visited Sharon every Thursday to pray with her after our group rosary. Mitzi cat was always checking me out if she wasn’t sleeping.

Sharon Elizabeth Constance (née Wilson), 80, was born on November 21, 1942, in a farmhouse in Kingsley, MI to Betty and Lauren Wilson. She passed away at Anderson at Summerfield on Saturday, July 8, 2023, with her youngest daughter at her side.
The family moved to New Orleans when Sharon was a young child and she lived there until she met and married the love of her life, Clarence Joseph (C.J.) Constance. She and C.J. raised four children, later moving to Marrero, and eventually settling in Slidell. Sharon was sharp, energetic, and high achieving. She had a deep affection for animals, despite C.J.'s supposed "no animals in the house" rule, and lovingly cared for many pets over the years.
While living in the King’s Grant neighborhood in Marrero, Sharon was instrumental in heading up a group of neighbors to build a playground, a concession stand, and a baseball field (of course, Sharon had C.J. build the backdrop). This provided kids in the community with a safe place to play, and it also gave them the opportunity to form teams and compete within local children’s sports leagues. This park grew into today’s JPRD King’s Grant Playground.
Sharon was also a social dynamo, befriending neighbors and hosting many family-friendly parties at her home. When one of her close friends began a secretarial course, Sharon joined in, passed the Civil Servants’ exam with flying colors, and started work at the Army Corps of Engineers. Her work there expanded her social circle, forging new and meaningful friendships. Later, she served in administrative roles at Pope John Paul II High School and Archbishop Hannan High School in Slidell. Lastly, Sharon worked as the secretary at St. Francis Cabrini Elementary in New Orleans. These three schools further enriched her life with countless friendships. Upon retiring, Sharon trained as and became a hospice volunteer at Slidell Memorial Hospital, sharing her love for reading with patients there.
Sharon lost her husband C.J. in 2021 after 63 years of marriage. She is survived by her four children: Mary Lynn Bogdanovich (Jeff), David Constance (Billye), Elizabeth Maroun (Tony), and Stephanie Badeaux (Byron). Her six grandchildren, Mitchell Landry, Ana Bogdanovich, Anton Constance, Drew Badeaux, and Sylvia Constance brought immense joy to her life. She also cherished the companionship of her beloved Mitzy Cat.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Sharon’s caregivers, with special thanks to Shalane Prestenbach Mayeaux. In addition, the family would like to express their appreciation to José Maroun, Sharon’s godson, who is traveling from Lebanon to serve as a pallbearer.
In memory of Sharon, the family kindly requests donations to be made to your local ASPCA or animal shelter.
