My condolences to the family. Sharon was a dedicated warrior in the fight against sickle cell. More importantly, she was a beautiful person.

First time meeting Sharon was when I was attending UAB and our Fraternity(Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc.) had a Sickle Cell walk every year. She was always smiling and very nice ; and she had a love for Omega because her husband Frat.
To the family my prayers are with you doing this dark time, but remember joy comes in the morning and God will not place more on you than you can bare

What a Woman, what a Lady, what a trailblazer for the sickle cell community. She pioneered and advocated for many current developments in sickle cell that will forever be endearing. She channeled and promoted many other causes that were near and dear to her heart. She used all of her earthly vessel and spirit to love and support family, friends and the community.
