The then new Shaker Heights Police Station opened in 1974 and I remember the day Sharon Mapp got a job as Dispatcher around 1976. I think she was about 25 and I was a sergeant in charge of communications. Sharon was quiet and polite, but went right to work and learned very fast. She had graduated from Kent State and it soon became apparent that she was quite bright.
Sharon was excellent at her job, but beneath it she also had a wonderful sense of humor. I don't recall her ever...
