My sincerest heartfelt condolences goes out to the family of one of the dearest person I have ever met. Always so loving, accepting, and validating me in more ways than one. Ms. Sharon was always there for me when I needed her, like a second mom, my mentor, my friend, and someone who I had the utmost respect for. My heart aches just to spend one more day with you. May she RIP. You will always be in my heart Ms. Sharon. I love and miss you more than words can say. ~Carmen

I share in the sadness of many at the loss of Sharon Rice Vaughn. She was a strong and visionary leader, who made an enormous difference in the lives of so many. May Sharon rest in peace. May you, her children and grandchildren, be graced by your fondest memories of her.

May your heavenly walk be in peace,love and compassion dear warrior. You have won many battles, yet there are still some to fight and I know you will be looking down on us and be with us in spirit while we continue your fight.
May your family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances beheld in the arms of the angels while they are going through this sad time of loss.
May the "sparkle" in your eyes shine on us all.

As a member of the Twin Cities progressive community we are saddened at the sudden loss of such a profound visionary. Sharon was an amazing thinker/do-er. Her energy and courage is an example to us all. Sharon, deep thanks. Your legacy lives on.

Sharon, its hard to believe you are gone. You were such an inspiration. And you were so much fun to hang out with. You touched so many lives, including mine. I will always remember fondly the times I had with you.

I had the privilege of having Sharon Rice Vaughn as my advisor and as an instructor at Metropolitan State several years back. What a wonderful person. What grand contributions she made to society. She will be greatly missed. Thoughts of care and condolences to those who knew her best -- and for those, like me, simply had the honor of just knowing her.

My condolences to the family and friends of Sharon, who was taken before her time. As a proud graduate of Metropolitan State University (2003), I fondly remember Sharon as one of my professors. I'm also a snowmobiler, and her initials, SRV, are a brand of Yamaha sled (I'm a Polaris gal myself). Professor SRV was somewhat eccentric, but with a heart of gold, and she will be missed by many.
