Not sure what to say?

Shawn, I meet your son yesterday at fleet week in LA. You would be so proud of him. He is a strong young Marine and I am confident he has bright future. He wears your name on his uniform and and a wrist bracelet. I enjoyed speaking with him. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. Rest easy brother, we have the watch. SF, LtCol Carroll Harris

Thinking about you and sending love to Jennifer & Jonathan. Gone but never forgotten. Rest easy brother!

I didn't know GySgt Shawn Lane personally, but I served in Iraq during the same time. I was with a helicopter squadron, HMLA-775, that was flying missions in support of the hostile actions that day on July 28, 2004.

Tragically, we lost a pilot, Lt.Col. David Greene (who also served as our maintenance officer) that same day. He was piloting his AH-1W SuperCobra over Ramadi in support of Marines on the ground, including GySgt Lane. Sadly, Lt.Col Greene was shot and killed...

This is on Camp Pendleton near my housing area. I dropped flowers by his grave in rememberance of him today.

Thank you so, vary much for your service Shawn! May you rest in peace! :(
