Not sure what to say?

It is now 2014 and I have just found some photo's of Shawn from the Cayman islands trip. A memorial was placed by the Mermaid off of the Sunset House in 2008 at 54'deep with Her name on it. I think of her often and miss her every time I dive. Jim Ray

I worked at Colby College in the security office while Shawn was a student there. I got to know her over the time we were both at Colby. While the money might not have been the best, the true "pay" was in the relationships and friendships formed with like minded people. Much as it remains now that I have moved on and become a physical therapist. Being able to help others is tremendously rewarding, no matter the position. Shawn and I shared alot, as we both lived our adventure of life.

When I got the email yesterday reminding me that it had been a year since Shawn's passing, I could not believe it. I think of her often and fondly and hope she is smiling down on all of us. I mirror Karen's sentiments and want to say that I also miss you Mama G!

I thought a lot about her this past week, cant believe its a year already. They say life isnt fair, they are right. I miss you Mama G!

Please accept my sadness and regrets after learning today of the death of Shawn. I met and enjoyed diving with her the last two years at the PADI dive program in Grand Cayman. She always had a warm sense of humor, and good stories. Her absence at Cayman this May will be conspicuous. Please accept my condolences. Jim Palmquist aka Sharkdiver.

Our deepest sympathies to Sean and the rest of Shawn's family. We moved Shawn and Sean this year. We had fun with the play on names, so on move day we sent our own play on names. It was truly uplifting in the hectic work day to talk to Shawn on the phone. We were all touched by her personality and share in your grief.
Our sincerest sympathies,

To John, Kim, Sean, and all the people who loved Shawn,
I'm still in shock about the news. Shawn was an awesome person and a tough competitor. I coached her at Colby, and I enjoyed every minute of it. She was so much fun! Although she left this earth too soon, she definitely lived her life to the fullest and left her mark. She will be missed tremendously by me and so many others. But I know I will see her again some day. :)

I am so sorry and stunned to hear of Shawn's passing - my deepest sympathies to her family and friends. I played ice hockey with Shawn at Colby and will always remember her gregarious nature and ability to keep us laughing.

To the family and friends of Shawn,
I was led to this tribute because of Shawn's MS. But as her photograph appeared I was struck with how vibrant and beautiful and young she was. Your obituary was wonderful and I felt a loss that I had never had the privilege of knowing her.
I am very sorry. I know that I will never forget this tribute and remember what an inspiration one person can be.
