Not sure what to say?

Joyce and Shawn,
I am in shock to read about Shawn Sr.!!! Kim Owens/Williams just asked me via FB if I knew about your situation. May God continue to grant you His grace and peace in enduring all ups and downs of the emotional roller coaster!!! God Bless you 2 and may Shawn rest in peace!!
Claudia Hopper and the family!

Our family was (and still is) in total shock and truly saddened to hear of the passing of Shawn. Shawn Jr. was one our older son's first friends when we moved into the neighborhood. Through our boys' friendship and numerous sleepovers, we became acquainted with the Martins and always appreciated Shawn's sense of humor. He will be missed. You are in our prayers! The Gragg Family (Derrick,Sanya,Avery,&Phillip)

Time and distance never faded our friendship. You will be missed my brohter

It is a shock to hear of Shaw Martin's passing. He was an Ann Arborite and an ole neighborhood alumni. He was a personable individual who made you feel good. He was good to be around. Although it doesn't lessen the pain of his passing, Shawn left a wonderful legacy for his family and the community, the African American Cultural and Historical Museum of Washtenaw County. God comfort and keep the Martin family in his healing grace.

To Martin family. You have my deepest sympathy . I would run into Shawn at the Credit union. On Carpenter Road. He Always had a smile on his faces. R-I-P.

Martin family,
The McKnight, Morton family extends our condolences and prayers to you in the loss of a wonderful person and family man. He was always respectful, thoughtful and considerate of others.
I will greatly miss my friend and confidant. I know that Shawn is with God and his family.
God Bless you all and stay strong.
Love,
Diana McKnight-Morton and family

Shawn is now in the arms of our Loving Father.

Shawn was the last GENTLEMAN standing! He had the Obama swagger before President Obama was born. He was the true Diplomat of Ann Arbor!

Dear Family,
It's hard to find the words to say, but may God continue to bring you remembrances of the beautiful spirit that was Shawn. I will truly miss my "brother". He was such a unique soul, loved you all dearly and did so much for the community. My heartfelt love and sympathy are with you all…..Joyce, Shawn Jr., "Mom" Martin, Michael and Gayle. Let your faith in God and the love of family and friends be the source of your strength at this time. Shawn's spirit will always...
