Bowling Green will miss Big Shawn and his sense of humor as will I and the other "Spice Girls". I'm saddened that I won't run in to him on my return visits anymore and hear him ask me how it feels to be "whatever our current age is" (I'm 2 months older than him).
I wish to send my condolences to his family.

Bonnie and all of the Wegman family,

I'd like to express my deepest sympathies to you. It has been some time since I've spoke with Shawn, but I will remember him as a kind, gentle, and funny guy. He had great regard for his fellow man, and had an upbeat and friendly personality.
Bonnie, he always expressed a fondness for his family and upbringing, and he and I would talk often about you back in the 80's when the Blimphangar was part of my regular route with BG Beverage.

I...

Dear Bonnie,
I just heard of Shawn's passing and wanted you to know how bad I felt for you. God Bless

Big Shawn you will be greatly missed in the Bowling Green community. You were a great part of so many lives here. Meeting you first at the Portage Quarry, what a great sence of humor and you will be missed. A shave and a haircut no more. GOD SPEAD

Aunt Bonnie, Greg, Jeff & Cindy: Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers...Love you, Lisa, Nick, Kaleb and Emily Herron

My sympathies to the Wegman family. When I think of Shawn, I think of Woodville in the 70s...the swimming pool where he'd do "cannonballs" off the diving boards...and Main Street where I'd see him on his bike. He was a nice guy. I'm so sorry for your loss.

i met Big Shawn in 1980 while attending BGSU and was lucky enough to have him as a roommate. Shawn was a pretty good basketball player, and he loved to prove people wrong when they misjudged his talent on the court. That Shawn was a warm, engaging person was obvious. Shawn was a wonderful story-teller, his humanity and empthay evident. He called me at my last command, asking for Admirial Buckner without explanation to my superiors. He left msgs on our answering machine, that were very funny...

Please accept my sincere thoughts and prayers at this sad time in your lives. I am sorry I cannot be with you at this time of mourning. I will be thinking of you. I love you.
