Not sure what to say?

I was an RN at St Vincent´s in NYC - where I met Shawna - she loved when I called her "Dr Melfi" (Sopranos) She was smart - stylish -funny - kind - she was heavy on my Mind today & I googled - Rest in Power & Peace

I'm using some of her research towards a school project on mine and went online to find more information about her studies and found this page. I just wanted to say that she will be remembered forever and will live on in the academic world, have no worries for her legacy is instate. I'm so sorry for your loss, I hope it can bring you some warmth to know the time and dedication she put into her field will keep her alive.

She was a unique and passionate individual. I met Shawna years ago in Nova Scotia. She came to visit me in NYC once but we lost touch after I got married. My sincere condolences to all her loved ones.

My condolences and prayers to Dr. Newman family. I´m going to miss you with all my heart my dearest Dr. I just found that today when I logged in to my appointment with the other Dr. I remember the last time you spoke to me and when we finished I said ok good by Dr., and you always used to tell me no it´s good bye for now. Dr. Newman I will always remember you and I don´t know if ever going to get over it. You´re patient Jacqueline Gonzalez. Good bye for now.

I knew Dr. Newman through her work at the Hallowell Center. She was a lovely person, a caring, incredibly knowledgeable doctor, had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed. My condolences to her family.

I was so saddened to hear of the loss of Dr. Newman. I knew Dr. Newman through her work with developmentally disabled adolescents who were her patients at Lenox Hill. She was thoughtful and kind and truly cared for the well-being of her patients and their families. Sincere condolences to her husband and family.

Shawna, you were the most formidable intellect I ever knew. You were a student at Parsons when I came into your father´s life, and I was amazed at the breadth and depth of your knowledge, which only grew more formidable as the years went on. You excelled at everything, from medicine to cooking and all things in between. Whenever I had a question about anything, you were the person I called. You would have been intimidating (okay, you were), except that you were always so loving and kind...

I remember Shawna as a young woman who decided what sort of a person she wanted to be and then, with determination and brilliance, became exactly that. We send comfort and strength to all who loved her, to her husband, to Iris, to Lloyd and Linda, to Mark and to Amy, and to all the family. Victoria and Eddie (Rosenberg)
