After my graduation from the University of Toledo in Toledo , Ohio I returned to NJ at the request of my uncles Muhammad and Akmal Shakoor of the Addeynu Allahe Universal Arabic Association in Youngstown , Ohio to study the Islamic faith as a Muslim under Hajj Heshaam Jaaber of Elizabeth NJ . Sheikh Heshaam Jaaber was my Umi Aisha Toure and my stepfather Ahkmal Munaj Karram mentor and Arabic teacher as well as Imam to me & all of my siblings. We studied 3-4 times a week on Van Ness Pl his home in Newark we prayed prepared food ans elevated each other learning surahs. He was very calming but strict very informative and humble. He new his purpose and he shared the Sunnah and exposed us to Hadith. I will never forget him nor his wife May Allah SWT grant them Jannah Firdaus

I was only a child when I played on the floor in what I remember being his home. I cannot remember the details but I remember the all encompassing light that lived with him. It was all over the space around him.

I'm sending my profound condolences. I meet Sheikh Jaaber in 1979 and my life has been change since. I'm thakful for the knowledge that he gave about Islam and our history. May he rest in peace.

As the National Emam of the Addeynu Allahe UniversalArabic Association, Inc., as the Haj Director for the Rabitat al-Alam al-Islaami (Muslim World League)and as the Khalifa and Man of the Year for the Society for Islamic Brotherhood, he set the example for so many Islamic leaders about what Islamic leadership is and what it should be according to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (sAa). I have nothing except the deepest regards for the man & friend who was there with Faruq and me for our first haj. He was there to marry us, to celebrate milestones in our lives and to help bury my husband.
May Allah be with you, Latifah, Ali, Mohd & Taha to keep you strong....
