Not sure what to say?

Oh,my. I just received a note with this news from my mother, Ramona Patterson who now lives in Streator, Illinois. We used to live on a farm on the Vermillion River near where Sheila grew up. She and I went to high school together and were in the same class. Our times together are fun memories of Sheila's big smile and lots of laughter. School plays, Student Council, marshmallow roasts by the river, playing Scrabble and sipping homemade wine one New Year's Eve with our mothers. Much, much...

To the family of Sheila Bates. Even though I never met Sheila face to face, we always talked on the phone regarding business, but then of course there were personal conversations between us. I truly hate that we never got a chance to put "a face" with the voice. She will truly be missed by me.

God Bless you & your family. You loved her, but God loves her more!!

I was very sad to hear about Sheila. I would call her for credit references and she was always very pleasant and helpful. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and co-workers.

She will be missed!

Sincere regrets and prayers to Sheila's family. I worked with Sheila at the Miami Herals for 15 years. We were "Bus buddies" and rode back and forth to and from work to our homes in far-flung areas South of Miami. I still miss our long conversations while travelling. God rest her soul.

MAY GOD GIVE YOU STRENGHT AND COMFORT AT THIS TIME

Nancy, and family.
I worked with Sheila at The miami Herald for over 30 yrs and recently retired in July of 2002.
How many times we were the first to greet each other every morning as I would arrive and get all settled and in she would come, always a happy cheerful greeting of "Good Morning" even when I knew she did not feel good at all. I know she will be missed by all! She is now in peace, with God! "God Is Good" !!

My deepest sympathy to Sheila's family. I worked with Sheila for a very long time and will miss her very much especially her quirky sense of humour.
Sincerely,
