Sheila Vest Hagy

Sheila (Momma, Grandma) Vest Hagy, 53, of Roanoke, passed away tragically in an auto accident in the early morning of Saturday, March 31, 2007. She was a private nurse and loving caregiver for many people in the Roanoke Valley. She was preceded in death by her son, Roy Nathan Lacks, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Juanita Lacks; parents, John and Delphia Sarver. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Tammie and Tom Frate of Troutville, Rhonda and David Finney of Boones Mill, Kimberly Hagy of Roanoke; grandchildren, Nathan and Rendyn Frate, her babygirl Mickayla and Darrius Finney, Angelica Lacks, Faith Tate; loving companion, James Jones; four sisters, Linda Stamper and husband, Ken of Bluefield, Maxine Hicks of Vinton, Darlene Stevens of Michigan, Dorothy Sarver of Bluefield; two brothers, Johnny Sarver and wife, Pam, Luke Sarver, all of Roanoke; a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews who loved her very dearly, especially nephew, Ken, Jr. and his son, her Godson, Kenneth Owen of Bluefield; three godsons, Jonathan, Bubba, and Toby Jacob Lacks of Troutville. Momma was a horse enthusiast. She adored and lived for her children and grandchildren. Our mother was our best friend and we still have not grasped that we have to write this out for you to learn about her. She loved to travel and loved to shop. She never met a stranger and had many friends. She had a heart of gold and if you had never met this lady, you had missed out on a gift from above. Momma was one of a kind. None of us was ready for this sudden good-bye. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2007 in the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home with the Rev. James Bassett officiating. Interment will follow in Troutville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Botetourt Funeral Home, 14920 Lee Highway, Buchanan (254-3000).
