I met Sister Sheila 50 years ago after my parents relocated our family to Rochester from Germany. Sister generously spent many hours at the end of the school day tutoring me at St. Monica's School. She assisted me with the subjects that were new to me i.e. American History and US geography. Sister was fluent in German and through her kindness and devotion eased my adjustment as a teenager in a foreign country. Over the years I have often thought of her fondly and will continue to do so...

What can you say about Sister Sheila.....another angel has gone home to be with her Lord. A dynamic and caring person, Sr. Sheila had unbounded energy even as she became older and her health frailer. She brought so much sunshine into people's lives and anyone who knew Sr. Sheila will forever remain positively touched by her loving spirit. I will miss her greatly - may she now rest in peace and enjoy a new life with Jesus.

Sr. Sheila was a dedicated and no-nonsense principal at Sacred Heart Cathedral for many years. I remember her filling in when a teacher was absent, teaching the students a variety of disciplines. She also handed out report cards and publically commented on how you did in front of your classmates. Sr. Sheila demanded respect and when you were called to her bench, you said a little prayer because you knew you had done something wrong and was about to face the consequences. It is too bad our...

Sister Sheila was a great educator and a kind woman. I learned a lot from her as a school principal, and she generously shared her gifts and insights, as well as her wonderful sense of humor.
