VISITATION: 12:30 PM WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2017 AT JOHN E. STEPHENS CHAPEL; FUNERAL: 2:00 PM WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25, 2017 AT JOHN E. STEPHENS CHAPEL; INTERMENT: MCCLAIN'S CHAPEL CEMETERY; Funeral services for Ms. Sheila Eakes McGowan will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. John E. Stephens officiating. Interment in McClains Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:30 Wednesday til time for service at the funeral home. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services in charge. Ms. McGowan, 60, passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She lived in Calico Community all of her life. She was a U.S. Army Veteran. She was employed at Wendy's as cashier. Her hobbies include family time and reading. Ms. McGowan was a member of McClain's Chapel Church. Preceded in death: Father, Ceary Monroe Eakes. Survivors: Mother, Maxine Eakes of Philadelphia; Son, Casey McGowan of Philadelphia, MS; Sisters, Diane White (John) of Mobile, AL and Doris Warren (Rob) of Meridian, MS; Brothers, Harold Eakes (Sharon) of Philadelphia, MS, Randy Eakes (Teresa) of Meridian, MS, Ivea Eakes (Sharon) of Meridian, MS and Charles Eakes of Philadelphia, MS; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. Pallbearers: Harold Eakes, Casey McGowan, Patrick Eakes, Shon Kirkland, Cody Eakes, Dillon Holloway, Cody King.

Sheila, I didn't know this was you. I know Mike met you at the doors of Heaven. You were a such a sweet person and I know anyone who met you once, were blessed by your smile. May God Bless Your Family.

My condolences go out to sheilas family. She was great person to me and will be missed by many!

Sheila was always kind to me and my family. She always spoke when we saw her and she always had a smile and kind words. We are praying for peace and comfort for her family.
