Sheila “Petie” Rockhill, 78, of Whiting, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 at her home.  Born in Presque Isle, Maine, she was a longtime Cream Ridge area resident before moving to Whiting.  Petie was a devoted homemaker who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She enjoyed taking trips to Maine to see her extended family and going to Atlantic City and Las Vegas to play the slots.  She also enjoyed going to dinner and spending time with her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nola and Bob Noller.


Daughter of the late William and Rena DuMont, she was predeceased by two sons, Peter and Todd Dancer.  Petie is survived by her husband of 52 years, David Rockhill; her daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and David Kalm of Allentown and Susan and Leonard Marcocci of Hamilton; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Dancer of Ewing; her granddaughters and their husbands, Kaitlin and Avery Sheridan and Jane and Matthew Hedlund; and her great grandsons, Oliver and Finneas Sheridan.  Petie is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dana and Margaret DuMont of Sandown, NH; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nola and Bob Noller of Toms River; her cousin, Joanne and Jim Bruner of Ellington, CT and many nieces and nephews.


A viewing will be held Thursday, August 11th from 9-11am with a funeral service to start at 11am at the Peppler Funeral Home, 114 S. Main St., Allentown. 


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Petie’s name to the American Heart Association, American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
