Not sure what to say?

Oh that smile! She made my day each time we met. The early days at the GWV Smith were the best times ever. She was part of the power puff " rug ladies". She lives forever as her stitches will mend the time she spent tirelessly conserving the most important carpets, and beadwork. We loved the 3 stooges, and I cherish those three rings she gifted me. It was an honor to know her. She will remain in my best memories.

I have been friends with Sheila's daughter Linda for many years, and have fond memories of meeting Sheila on one of her visits to California. We found that we had yarn arts in common, and she spurred me on to learn how to knit. More importantly, she was a wonderful conversationalist. Such a warm and incredibly soulful woman. I was so honored to know her. To my dear friend Linda and your family, I extend my deepest condolences and will hold you all in my thoughts and prayers during this...

I am a colleague of Ms. Shear's daughter, Dr. Paula Shear, in the Psychology Department (which she now graciously chairs) at the University of Cincinnati. I send my condolences to all family and friends of Sheila. From this wonderful obituary, it is clear and easy to see where Paula got her keen focus and thoughtful, contributory spirt of helpfulness.

My very best wishes,

Will miss the twinkle in the eye and the warmth always behind her smile, the wonderful sense of humor, the ease at which she laughs, how she instantly made me feel like part of the family when I married in, the generosity of her hospitality, and most of all, just all of dear Sheila, someone so easy to love so dearly. Paula, Rebecca, Rachel, Linda and Romel are in my thoughts and reflections at this time. You were so fortunate to have her as such a tremendous part of your lives, as were all...

Working with Sheila was the greatest pleasure she brought not only dedication and skill to every project she tackled, no matter how difficult, but also her wonderful sense of humor. When I left Boston to take a job in Atlanta, she gave me a carpet bag! She not only retsored some of the most important pieces of ancient Egyptian beadwork in the Museum of Fine Arts, but also was of invaluable help in the conservation and reconstruction of a remarkable collection of ancient Egyptian jewelry...

We lived next door to Sheila for a few years on Burbank Rd, Longmeadow. She was the perfect neighbor! Always warm and welcoming, traded gardening tips, great sense of humor, and oh that beautiful smile. I remember seeing her latest "bead" project on the dining room table...her talents were boundless. The world has lost a beautiful soul. Our sincere condolences to her family; especially her daughters of whom she was always so very proud. We will always keep her in our heart.
