Sheila Tschinkel

Sheila´s academic and professional accomplishments were truly outstanding. Her interest in promoting the public good and a strong economy were equally as impressive. More than all her personal warmth and continuing encouragement of her friends and colleagues was truly the gift she gave to us and the one which keeps her forever with me. A kind and wise spirit, she will be missed.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I was excited to take a class taught by Dr. Tschinkel this fall at Emory. Her life and career is really inspiring to me as an aspiring economist.

Sheila's life contributions speaks for itself that she implemented lots of her gifts and talents that has contributed to our world acceleration in a positive fashion. Sheila inspired me and everyone she worked with. Her intellect, curiosity, and open-mindedness raised the level of analysis at the Atlanta Fed for decades. She was the only senior officer in the Federal Reserve System who showed confidence in my ability to contribute to policy analysis early in my career. I am forever indebted to her. I continued to be stimulated by her conversation for nearly 30 years after I left Atlanta.
