To Bert Gilliard & Family,

Your "JEA Customer Care Family" extends their deepest sympathy and prayers during your bereavement. We pray that you and your family will find peace and strength through God's unconditional love.

As a graduate of William M. Raines, class of '68', I remembered how much "Gay" was loved.

God Bless!

We just received a call from Cheryl O'Connor about Gay. We are devastated for you. I am trying to find the details for services online as I don't know how else to do so. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will be in touch as soon as I find how.
Love, The Tuschinskis

The William M. Raines Class of "68" would like to express our condolences to the family of Sheila "GAY" Gilliard-Barber .We will always remember the good old days at Raines High School, and her days as a cheerleader for the Vikings. Although she will be missed, she leaves a legacy of friendship in the Class of "68" . May the family take comfort in knowing that she is now a Cheerleader for the LORD.

I have known Mrs. Barber all of my life...her daughters Stacy and Shane, nieces Tracy and Robin and her nephew Tommy and brother Michael attended school with me. Her loving mother, Mrs. Gilliard, was one of my most influential teachers in elementary school. But above all, I had the privilege of singing with Gay in the Diocesan Choir in St. Augustine every year. Always a kind word for everyone she had, and the ability to make others laugh at the world and themselves came easily to her. ...

I have never had the pleasure of meeting Gay, though I lived some of her life and memories through my dear friend and her brother Michael Gilliard. My deepest sympathy to the entire family.
With love Tiffany and Brandon Taft.

"Our brief sojourn on this earth quickly passes. From this life all eventually are parted. When our time is exhausted,God beckons us back to that Heavenly home whence we started." From Gloria Mendez, Black Catholic Board Member

We will miss you!
