Not sure what to say?

My sincere condolences to all the family. And thank you for sharing Sheppie with the world. I worked with Sheppie in Washington DC in the early 1990s, starting the Women´s Commission´s advocacy office there, and as noted by others, treasured her mentorship as much as I deeply admired her skills, impact and generous, principled qualities. She was truly one of a kind in so many ways, beyond the signature hats. I am grateful for the years I had with her, and comforted to know her impact...

Sheppie was a smart, kind, unique, authentic woman who gave of herself to so many around the world. I had the privilege of knowing Sheppie when she and Ambassador Abramowitz were posted in Ankara, Turkey. What a treasure and gift Sheppie was to us all! My sincere condolences to her beloved family. Ellen Pistana

Sheppie was one of a kind and the most impactful refugee advocate DC has ever seen. She was a wonderful mentor for me as I struggled to understand the ways of making DC work. Sheppie had several rolodexes which were the envy of all. She never gave up, no door remained locked and Sheppie was plain fun to be around! I´ll never forget her introducing me to Bono during a fancy dinner! I will continue to think of you Sheppie. Thank you for all the lessons you taught me about the halls of power...

I was with IRC in the refugee program in BKK in the late seventies. Our youngest son was born during this time and experienced some difficulties at birth. When Sheppie heard about this she visited with the doctor and ensured that we had all the information needed to quiet our worries. This was very much appreciated and certainly went beyond what anyone could expect. CHAIYO!

Please accept my deepest condolences. I knew Sheppie and Mort Abramowotz when he was ambassador to Thailand during the Indochina refugee crises in the 1980s sheppie always visited the many Cambodian refugee camps along the border and hosted many embassy events to promote their cause. She worked with all the non profits in Thailand and lobbied on their behalf. Save the Children, Catholic Relief Services, Church World Service to name a few, including the international organizations, the UNHCR...

Sheppard was a fantastic person I had the pleasure of working with for years. Paul A West, CPA

Please accept my condolences in the name of my parents, Amb. Robert Miller and Mrs. Kaity Miller.

I remember when Sheppie and Mort arrived in Ankara in 1989. Sheppie wanted to be anything other than the traditional ambassador's spouse. She used to say, "I am not a potted plant!" No, indeed. She was an inspiration to women in the community, spouses and officers, as well as the men. My condolences to her beloved family.

"A WOMAN OF VALOR , WHO CAN FIND. HER VALUE IS FAR BEYOND RUBIES ...SHE SPREADS OUT HER PALMS TO THE POOR AND EXTENDS HER HANDS TO THE NEEDY. SHE OPENS HER MOUTH WITH WISDOM-A LESSON OF KINDNESS IS ON HER TONGUE."Dear Sheppie, you have made our world a better place. Deepest condolences to the family.
